An afternoon among centuries-old olive groves, gathered with our nearest and dearest at the beautiful Villa Salvia in Greece ~ a place where timeless trees stretch towards the sea and tradition follows in every detail. Guided by the gracious owner Aristea, we were welcomed into the heart of Greek culture with an olive oil cooking experience to remember.
We began by learning about the deep heritage of the estate’s groves, whose history traces back as far as written records allow. Surrounded by their enduring presence, we rolled up our sleeves to create Hortopita ~ a rustic, flavourful greens pie, baked with love and intended to be shared.
Between stories and laughter, we wandered through the groves, sipping on local wine as the afternoon light played upon our latest collection, Yaya ~ named in honour of the Greek word for grandmother. The delicate broderie anglaise caught the sun, revealing patterns as intricate as the land’s history itself.
As the sun dipped low, we danced into the golden evening, before gathering once more for a family-style dinner beneath the olive trees. Plates were passed, stories exchanged, and time seemed to slow ~ a day woven with food, culture, and connection, etched into memory as beautifully as the landscape itself.
